Maverick Signings
Thank you for choosing Maverick Signings! It is our mission to secure your offsite signings and provide excellent
representation for your dealership. Our services focus on fraud prevention, accurate document signing and prompt
return of your documents after a successful signing.
We have put together instructions for you to follow to ensure a smooth signing. These instructions match what our
signers learn in our mandatory certification course. All Maverick signers are state-licensed notaries and must complete
our online course prior to a signing. Our certification course was authored by automotive sales and finance management personnel
knowledgeable in dealing with the "hands on" issues that may arise with offsite delivery and signing transactions.
We understand the importance of getting things done right the first time and the expedient return of your documents,
therefore, we ask that you follow these instructions.
Placing the order
Initially, you will need to register a new Dealer account, complete the Dealership or Lender profile page and
either submit it to us online or fax it to us. Once we receive your application, you can access and update your
profile anytime from the Dealer home page.
From the dealer home page, you have a printable Signing Instruction Form. This form serves two purposes. First, it is your
request for a signing and, second, it gives our signers all the information needed to complete a successful signing.
This form is the correspondence page between you, your customer and our Maverick signers. It spells out any specific
instructions to be followed out on your behalf. Place a copy with the contract bundle for the Maverick signer assigned
to your customer. We cannot set an appointment without a Signing Instruction Form.
Once we receive the Signing Instruction form (by faxing it to us), we will contact your customer directly, set the
appointment, assign a Maverick Signer located closest to the customer and contact you with details via phone and email.
Once the appointment is set, you will send contracts directly to the signer. Please enclose a copy of the Signing
Instruction form with your documents. The signer will control your contract bundle start to finish. Maverick signers
are instructed to return contracts the same day or the next delivery day of the completed signing.
Our sister company, AMS Notary, utilizes the same method with thousands of successful home loan signings. This method
ensures your contract in transit times to be short. You will also have the ability of tracking the progress and timing
of the transaction. You will know exactly when to expect to receive your documents.
The contract package will be overnighted to your dealership directly. Please fill out and enclose a return, paid envelope with your document when
you send them to the signer. Inform your customer that they will be contacted by Maverick Signings to set the appointment.
Please instruct your salesperson to have their deal closed, all numbers on the retail or lease contract reviewed and
agreed upon, and the vehicle delivery date secured. As you would expect, our notaries are instructed not to interfere or
give any advice to your client. It is also by state law, that notaries can lose their commission, (their stamp), if they
advise or give comment to any documentation; they are only there as witness to the signing and identity by those persons
signing.
Any questions pertaining to any part of the transaction will be referred to the Finance Manager. Also have them
advise the customer to be ready with any items you want the notary to collect at the signing. This would include legible
copies of driver's licenses for all signers, bank stipps, etc. PLEASE HAVE YOUR DEAL CLOSED AND ALL DOLLAR AMOUNTS AND
TERMS EXPLAINED PRIOR TO THE SIGNING APPOINTMENT.
Signing Instruction Form
While this form is fairly self-explanatory, please remember to fill out all areas completely. Because of differences
in policies and procedures of dealerships, and variances of laws and requirements of individual states, we have
instructed our signers that the Finance Manager is their main contact at the dealership.
The Signing Instruction form contains your specific instructions to the signer. We ask you to recognize that many states
and dealerships differ in law, forms used and specific DMV requirements. It is imperative that the Signing Instruction
form be as clear and concise as possible.
In addition, please highlight or use Post-It notes on all of your forms and contracts where the signatures and
initials should go. If there are two signers, the use of two different color highlighters would be great!
It is our goal to get all documents signed right the first time. Please point out any reverse-side signatures and
which copies, if not indicated, go to the customer. Inform your client that they will be contacted directly by Maverick
Signings to set up a signing appointment. If you have any correspondence for the notary to give or receive, such as an
extra set of keys and owner's manual, (the customer will receive these only after a successful signing; if not, they
will be sent back to you), or collecting a check, please write what you want completed in the additional information
box on the Signing Instruction form.
We will deliver for you any keys or manuals that you have included. All contracts, forms and any other correspondence
will be sent back to you in the self-addressed, paid overnight envelope you provide.
We will collect first party personal or cashier's checks or any other forms of non-cash payments. OUR NOTARIES
WILL NOT ACCEPT CASH IN ANY AMOUNT OR GATHER CREDIT CARD INFORMATION ON YOUR BEHALF.
If we are to collect any other form of payment your dealership would accept, please indicate on the Instruction form
and have the customer be ready with payment at signing. If you have not collected a credit card payment prior to the
appointment, your customer will be referred to you while the signing is taking place. You can process these payments
over the phone directly with your client. It is advisable to complete any credit card transactions prior to the
appointment.
The Signing
The Maverick signer will contact your customer and reconfirm the appointment time and place. Using the Signing
Instruction form, the notary will make sure all signers and signatures are signed exactly as you have instructed.
We have instructed our signers to call your dealership (asking for the Finance Manager only unless instructed
otherwise), with any questions pertaining to the signing or the way a signature should be signed. Taking into
consideration the time and added expense involved for a mistake, we would expect any call would be appreciated and not
be a bother.
Maverick Signings and affiliate notaries can only be as accurate as you fill out the Instruction Form. We want to be
correct and accurate the first time. Signatures missed or signed incorrectly because of your omissions or misspelling
will not reflect a bad signing on the part of our signer.
Affidavit of Identity
Our signer then checks ID and has your customer(s) sign and date an Affidavit of Identity on each person that
signed. This affidavit confirms the identity of all parties signing your documents. You can print out this form from the
Dealer home page.
Fill out a form for each person signing documents. If you accept another form of ID other than a
driver's license, such as in a co-sign situation, please make note on the Signing Instruction form. The Maverick signer
(notary) will then endorse this form and return it with the contracts.
We highly recommend keeping these forms with the dealer file. All signings will be scheduled during dealership
business hours to ensure a Finance Manager or other contact, as indicated on the Signing Instruction form, is present if
the need arises.
