  Notary FAQ

How many times can I download the training course?

You can download the training course 5 times within a 30 day period. We suggest you download the course and save it to your desktop so you can review it as often as you need.

Once I purchase the automotive training course, how do I get back to the download page?

There are two ways to get back to the download page. One way is to type www.mavericksignings.com/store into your browser, then click on the "log yourself in" link, then you would go to "Returning Customers" and fill in your email address and password that you created when you initially purchased the training. At this point, you will be directed to where you can download the course.

The second way is to refer back to the confirmation email you received from Maverick when you purchased the course. In that email is a link you can click on to take you back to "Returning Customers". Then fill in your email address and password that you created when you initially purchased the training. At this point, you will be directed to where you can download the course.

What do I do when I am done studying the training course?

Within 24 hours of purchasing the training, you will receive a Welcome email. In that email will be a new User name and Password. That is the information you use to log in to take the test. You can log in from several areas of the site. Just be sure it specifies that it is a log in for Notaries.

Use your new user name and password to log in. Note that log-ins are case sensitive so if your user name is Joe Smith, it must be typed in as Joe Smith, using a capital J and capital S, and a space between Joe and Smith. Then once logged in, you will see the Notary Home page. From that page you can click the "Take test" link.

You may take the test as many times as you need to to pass. All wrong answers will be shown to you so you can see what you missed and get the correct answer(s). Also, your score for the test will be at the bottom of the page.

Once you take the test and pass it, you will be prompted to created your Notary Profile. Once you complete the notary profile, that information will automatically be entered into our nationwide database of qualified Automotive Notaries. You can come back as often as you like and update your information in your profile or come back just to see what's new at Maverick Signings.

How will I be paid?

Notaries will be paid for services rendered on a 30-day billing cycle; (net 30 is the customary billing cycle in the automotive industry). Although contract singing for a vehicle should be much less time-consuming, typically less than 30 minutes, compared to a mortgage loan, compensation will be the same as a normal mortgage signing.

Maverick Signings stands behind our notaries and understands that your time is valuable. Therefore, if the signing is completed and the transaction does not go through, you will still be paid for your services. (This policy will be valid as long as it is not due to Notary error.) Adjustments for exceptions will be agreed upon on a case-by-case basis. To date, we know of no state that use E-Docs for automotive signings so there would be no downloading or printing of Docs. Mileage adjustments for out-of-area signings will be $.40/mile after 30 miles from your office as determined by the address on your notary sign-up sheet.

Why does Maverick Signings need professional mobile notaries?

Based in Southern California, Maverick Signings is aggressively marketing and securing accounts for our auto division and are in need of mobile notaries located throughout the nation who are Maverick-trained and competent to complete an automobile signing. Automotive DMV documents, dealer forms and retail or lease contracts are very different than what most mortgage-trained notaries are used to seeing.

How does an automotive signing differ from a mortgage signing?

Although the signings are relatively shorter in time, there are many forms and signatures that may be unfamiliar to the notary. Automobile sales documents vary in appearance and the disbursement of client copies is completely different than mortgages. We are aware that numerous states already require certain automotive documents to be notarized. Many lenders are reluctant to lend to borrowers or co-signers out-of-state because of the inherent risks of fraud. E-signings may someday be a way of life, although the same problems lie with not knowing who you are really dealing with.
